Teenage skin

Few people get through adolescence without any pimples or other skin problems. It varies greatly how bad it gets, and this is controlled primarily by hormones and genes. Here are some tips on how to make the most of the situation, and this applies whether you have a lot or only occasional pimples.

There are few ingredients that are as effective in keeping an active, oily skin at bay as salicylic acid. It is a BHA acid, and can be extracted i.a. from willow bark. It is fat-soluble, which means that it can dissolve sebum and dead skin cells even down in the pores. Salicylic acid is also antibacterial and soothing - perfect for skin that easily gets pimples, large pores, or is just oily.

The skin should be cleansed every day - preferably both morning and evening. Whether you wear makeup or not, this is crucial. You wouldn 't go a day without washing your hands, would you?
The skin secretes sebum and waste products all the time, and if this stays on the skin, the pores can become clogged and bacteria can develop. Perfect breeding ground for a pimple in other words.

A good cleanser and tonic with salicylic acid will prevent and cleanse well - even down in the pores.

By using an exfoliator or scrub, you get cleansed extra well, and you get rid of dead skin cells that can lie on top of the skin and clog the pores. If the sebum does not come up and out of the pores, it becomes small sebum plugs, also called blackheads, whiteheads, blackheads or blackheads. Dear child has many names! Peeling the skin can be done 1-2 times a week, but it is important not to overdo it - it can hurt worse. Scrubbing an inflamed pimple is not recommended. Also be extra careful with peeling if you are under 18. Feel free to contact us for a skin talk.

Even if the skin feels oily, you should still use a moisturizer. Sebum is the skin's way of lubricating itself. So if you dry out the skin, it will react by producing more sebum. If you make sure to keep the skin moisturized with a cream, it will rather reduce sebum production and get more in balance.

So, use a light and moisturizing cream after cleansing every day, which also calms down and inhibits bacteria.
