Antioxidants are essential for the skin and come in many varieties such as vitamins A, C and E, beta carotene, glutathione, selenium, green tea and dozens of others. The more of these that are included in your skin care products, the better!

Antioxidants counteract damage to the cells by protecting them from the free radicals that can otherwise break down the skin and cause damage and premature aging. The production of harmful free radicals increases especially when the skin is exposed to strong sun, pollution or if you stress a lot or smoke.
