AHA acids
Alpha-hydroxy acids are a collective term for a large group of fruit acids that are used to effectively promote healthier and smoother skin. The AHA molecules are found naturally in several fruits and are therefore called fruit acid. AHA acids work in the top cell layer of the skin (Stratum corneum). They weaken the bonds between the skin cells in the epidermis and cause a slight peeling of the skin (peeling). This removes the top layer of the horn and gives smoother, cleaner, tighter and more radiant skin.
AHA acids even out pigment changes in the skin, and in higher concentrations it can lighten brown spots.
