Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root
Licorice root helps reverse hyperpigmentation, a condition where the skin forms dark spots that make it look uneven. It also helps reduce melasma, which can occur after sun exposure or hormonal changes during pregnancy.
The most active part of licorice root is called glabridin, of which 0.5% concentration has been shown to inhibit pigmentation caused by UVB rays.
Licorice root also has an anti-inflammatory effect on the skin and is known to reduce eczema and irritation.
