PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil

An emollient ingredient that is a blend of synthetic polyethylene glycol (PEG) with natural castor oil. The molecular size is too large to penetrate the surface of the skin so that it prevents moisture loss and keeps the surface of the skin soft. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) used in cosmetics is purified and safe to use. Although once a concern, reputable cosmetic suppliers have long eliminated impurities from the finished ingredient, making PEGs safe for the skin.
